Let’s talk about Sex!

Well, I did some soul searching everyone and I have determined that sex- fornication [engaging in sexual activity with a person outside the communication of marriage] is a sin against your own body.  The bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:13; ” Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” I enjoyed sexual acts for a long time but now I realize that it was my way of trying to grab fulfillment from somewhere.  God is definitely equipping me and shaping me into the woman that he has called me to be. Trust me honey, it is not easy to admit to a problem or struggle and recognizing the change that needs to be made. Knowing there is a problem makes you want to break down and cry for your soul to be renewed and cleansed.

If only I would have known the significance if staying pure {remaining a virgin} back when I was 18 years old! I consistently remembered my mother telling me to ” wait until marriage” however, I never understood why that was important. Now, there is no one to blame here because I knew what I was doing at the age of 18. I wanted to have sex. Everyone was talking about it, dreaming about it and was doing it. lol — “it was a natural thing” “just make sure you use a condom if you are going to do it.” I had to find things out my way, but God had a plan and he knew where I was going.

So here I am – I am learning to “Flee from sexual immorality” For every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. [1 Corinthians 6:18] What this means is that your body is now contaminated. Physically, it can reap emotional distress that leads to clouding your judgement. Once you comprehend that your body is a temple to God, you will understand that you should always glorify him in your body and in your spirit. Remember we were bought a price and I thank him everyday for what he did for us. He died for our sins so we can be restored and forgiven for the sins that we commit among ourselves. To God be the glory for that!

I will leave you with a scripture that had totally changed my life. ” But I say to the unmarried and to the widows; It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry.  For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” ( 1 Corinthians 7:8-9)

Prayer to God:

“Father God, forgive me and heal me from the sexual sins which have kept me separated from your love. Help me to recognized and accept the power Jesus offers to restore me to wholeness. Help me to be meek and humble that I will flee from all influences which cause me to sin. Thank you Lord for what you are doing in my life. Strengthen me oh God with your holy and powerful word.  Amen

ISN’T GOD AWESOME?

God is amazing- for simply who he is. He is amazing for all that he has done for you and he is doing for you now seen and unseen. No matter what your issues are everything will work out for the good because God is with you through it all. It can be very stressful to always worry about  the now-the bills you have to pay,the children you have to take care of, the tasks that you need to accomplish and even the future things you desire. But if you know that God will supply all of your needs- no matter what it is. That’s hope.

That’s the joy that you have to feel inside of you when you know you are going through things.

Read Psalms 27- for encouragement. This will encourage you everyday- read it everyday, write it down and memorize it.

I had to go in the bible to get words of encouragement and strength to keep me going because at times I said to myself that ” I can’t do it anymore and I want to give up” I lost my faith. The reason why we get this way is because we lack feeding our spirit with the word of God. When you really stop doing what you’re doing ; walking your own path, and ask God for his help-that directs you to read his word.

His word can get you through anything and everything. I have been reading the word, highlighting the scriptures and applying it to my life etc.

Here’s a prayer to God:

Father,  we want to say thank you for being the supplier for all our needs. We know that we would not make it without you. We ask that you help us in our time of trouble, help us have more  desire to seek you. more courage and wisdom to get through. We ask that you help us to be patience and wait on your plans for our lives. We just thank you for the words that are in the bible. We thank you for other women that are in our corner to encourage us each and everyday.

In Jesus Name Amen
