How to Endure Suffering

Here’s examples of how people endure suffering the wrong way vs the right way.

WRONG WAYS

  1. Demand to know why
  2. Withdraw from God
  3. Withdraw from others
  4. Decide the limits to your own endurance
  5. Be impatient with God
  6. Seek  your own remedies
  7. Give up to despair
  8. Delude yourself
  9. Indulge yourself
  10. Become angry
  11. Become depressed

RIGHT WAYS

  1.  Be content to know who is in charge > ” And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son.”(Romans 8:28,29)
  2. Acknowledge that he is with you> “Therefore by him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. (Hebrews 13:15)  “Therefore, Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon him, for he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6,7)
  3. Keep fellowship with believers > “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as is the manner of some but exhorting one another…”(Hebrews 10: 24,25)
  4. Know that God sets and know your limits> “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with temptation will also that you make the way of escape may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
  5. Wait for his perfect timing > ” But as for me, I trust in you O’ Lord; I say  You are my God. My times are in your hand, Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.” ( Psalm 31:14,15)
  6. Trust in the Lord to guide> ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5,6)
  7. Wait upon the Lord> “Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart.” ( Psalm 27:14)
  8. Seek the truth> “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
  9. Keep Pure> “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles that when they may be your good works which they observe glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:11,12)
  10. Master the anger > “So, then my beloved brethren, Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” ( James 1;19-20)
  11. Hope in the land > “Though he slay me, yet will I trust him, even so, I will defend my own ways before him.” ( Job 13:15)

I hope this helps someone who may be suffering. Totally trust God with your mind, heart and soul.  Remember this — “Every thing that happened in your life God, himself signed off on it.” Although, you maybe suffering know that Jesus WILL never put more on you than you can bear.  So have faith! “By faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

Prayer to God:

Dear Lord, Thank you for your all mighty hands. Thank you for creating us in your image and what you did on Calvary we will forever be grateful. We ask that you continue to show yourself strong in our lives. Help us to be more like you. We thank you for the freedom to have immediate access to you. For when we are in need, we can call on you anytime, anywhere. Thank you for being our Father, our Friend and forevermore our protector.

In Jesus Name ,

Amen

The gift of Sex

Is Sex a gift from God? The answer is yes. Sex was designed by God our creator as a special gift that allows a husband and wife to express oneness in intimate and exclusive love and to share in his plan for procreation (production of offspring). I know you may be wondering;  “Ok. if sexuality is a gift from God how could it possibly be so wrong if you are not married?” that is a good question.  In Genesis 2:18 God says; “it is not good that a man should be alone, I will make him a help meet for him.”  Therefore, sexual drives are the most natural high human bodies can experience. The downfall is that those sexual drives can be destructive when they are uncontrolled or misused.  I’ve learned that any intimate sexual relationship outside of monogamous fidelity within the covenant of marriage is condemned as sexual immorality. The fact that God says a man should not be alone he is simply telling us that he did not create sex for our own  personal satisfaction. When a man and woman come together, a chemical reaction takes place in the human brain. Sex is regulated and purposeful. When God said “therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.” ( Genesis 2: 24-25) This means having unity between the two. Two souls intertwined to one soul, one bed, and one family to glorify God.  Earlier I mentioned that sex was created for procreation because God says; ” Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth..(Genesis 1:28)” Sex was also created for comfort because by sharing yourself with your spouse it becomes a beautiful satisfaction that is deeper than ever. In Proverbs 5, it talks about God’s view of sex in marriage as being exciting, erotic, intoxication and a loving partnership. WOW, SEX IS DEEPER than you think…..

Yes, it may feel good and all that for a moment but its real topic that becomes misconstrued a lot.!  When I think back at the times I had sexual intercourse I wish I can take every moment back. It only lead to distortion and emptiness in my life. To actually believe that I had romantic nights of passion would be an understatement.  What really transpired was that I became ungodly soul tied to someone and emotional distress.

Can I get all the way real???  Although, the “world” ( social media, coworkers, friends, family members etc,) thinks SEX SALES and it can be exercised as a stress reliever or just because you’ve been dating someone for a long time its cool to have sex.  No, No, No, No and NO. The world says its okay to have sex but according to Romans 12:2; ” Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” As believers we are expected to exercise self-control in overcoming improper sexual impulses by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It’s not going to be easy but there is nothing too hard for God and I believe that it can be done. I’m doing it by faith and work because knowing what I know now, I want to live a life that is pleasing to God. If I can do I know you can too!

Prayer to God:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please guide my footsteps to take the right path in this life. That I may take every step closer to your will. Walk beside me Oh Lord, and as you will never forsake me, help me to not go astray. Father, break every change that has joined these ungodly soul ties to me. Cleanse my soul Lord. Make me brand new in your sight. I ask that you grant me discernment to recognize these ties that are not like you. I thank you Lord for what you have already done. Have your way in my life.

In Jesus Name Amen.

Let’s talk about Sex!

Well, I did some soul searching everyone and I have determined that sex- fornication [engaging in sexual activity with a person outside the communication of marriage] is a sin against your own body.  The bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:13; ” Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” I enjoyed sexual acts for a long time but now I realize that it was my way of trying to grab fulfillment from somewhere.  God is definitely equipping me and shaping me into the woman that he has called me to be. Trust me honey, it is not easy to admit to a problem or struggle and recognizing the change that needs to be made. Knowing there is a problem makes you want to break down and cry for your soul to be renewed and cleansed.

If only I would have known the significance if staying pure {remaining a virgin} back when I was 18 years old! I consistently remembered my mother telling me to ” wait until marriage” however, I never understood why that was important. Now, there is no one to blame here because I knew what I was doing at the age of 18. I wanted to have sex. Everyone was talking about it, dreaming about it and was doing it. lol — “it was a natural thing” “just make sure you use a condom if you are going to do it.” I had to find things out my way, but God had a plan and he knew where I was going.

So here I am – I am learning to “Flee from sexual immorality” For every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. [1 Corinthians 6:18] What this means is that your body is now contaminated. Physically, it can reap emotional distress that leads to clouding your judgement. Once you comprehend that your body is a temple to God, you will understand that you should always glorify him in your body and in your spirit. Remember we were bought a price and I thank him everyday for what he did for us. He died for our sins so we can be restored and forgiven for the sins that we commit among ourselves. To God be the glory for that!

I will leave you with a scripture that had totally changed my life. ” But I say to the unmarried and to the widows; It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry.  For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” ( 1 Corinthians 7:8-9)

Prayer to God:

“Father God, forgive me and heal me from the sexual sins which have kept me separated from your love. Help me to recognized and accept the power Jesus offers to restore me to wholeness. Help me to be meek and humble that I will flee from all influences which cause me to sin. Thank you Lord for what you are doing in my life. Strengthen me oh God with your holy and powerful word.  Amen

I am your sister, We are sisters

I have cousin who lives in North Carolina. We’re about the same age however we do not talk as often as we would like. One day she texted me and asked me to pray for her because the enemy is really “trying” her. I was shocked because I haven’t spoken to her in couple of years. I knew that it had to be important.I did not question God I just immediately prayed for her.

Even though I didn’t know the problem I still felt empowered to lift her name up to God. So that brings me to my question? Who have you prayed for? Who are you praying for?

As we all know pray changes things no matter the circumstances. I encourage everyone to pray for one another especially in a time like this that we are living in. We are sisters and we stay together by prayer. You never know what someone may be going through.

Sisters lifting Sisters Pray,

Dear God,

We need you now than ever. Thank you for always being there for us even when we don’t believe that you. Thank you for your unconditional love that is better than any love of a man. You will always be lifted and praised as long as we shall live on earth and when we get to heaven. You are so worthy and powerful. You are Alpha and Omega. We worship you oh Lord. YOU are worthy to be praised.

Thank you God for another day to lift my sisters up!

Amen

I have a friend in Jesus

Screenshot 2016-07-29 at 10.54.56 AM.png

Isn’t it amazing to know that you have  a friend in Jesus. Honestly, when your friends aren’t there when you need them. He is the friend of all friends. He always listens and there is not one day that he decides that he is too busy to be there. Its unconditional…

If we know that God is there for us all the time. Why do we not seek him? Why do we not talk to him, and trust in his word and believe in what he has promises us.

IF HE’S ALWAYS THERE… Why?

I believe it has something to do with our flesh. We have to check our flesh and get more in tuned with our spirit. The more in tuned with our spirit the more we are willing and able to seek God first in everything that we do. “But seek first the kingdom of heaven and his righteousness, and all things will be given to you as well.- Matthew 6:33” No more beating up yourself about not talking to God everyday.. No more telling God I know I don’t talk to you like I should- but you know my heart. ( that’s unnecessary) You know what is right!

I challenge everyone – even myself to focus on living by the truth. Live for God first!  Seek God first! We often ask him to do things for us but God is also wanting us to do things for him!

Watch your life change when you try Jesus- He is your best friend!

Thank you for being there for us through it all. Thank you for being our friend. We love you and adore you God. There is none like you nowhere. We make this vow to you today Father that we will seek you first in all that we do. We will feed more of our spirit so that you can reveal the truth to us. It may not be easy God but its worth it. We pray for strength and wisdom. Continue to cover us in Jesus Name.

Purpose

Screenshot 2016-07-26 at 3.00.03 PM.png

Beginning to find what your purpose is in life can be a struggle but its a journey that you must go through. When you get to the other side of the rainbow, it’t like WOW God. “I see why you had to take me through to get me here.”

Now some people take longer than others to get to their purpose because God wanted them to uncover themselves before they can receive what he intended them to have. God knows what he’s doing. Don’t be mistaken. He doesn’t want us to get so comfortable with his many blessings all of the time. Think about it… if he gave us what we wanted when we weren’t prepared for it, we would of missed the mark. Would of missed out on the true blessing of it all. HE gives us opportunities, experiences, tests and trials in life so we can actually grow. Many times when we face difficult times we often question God. ” Why am I going through this?”; “Why me?”

I have good news!!!!! Everything you went through from your childhood to now and is to set you up for your destiny, your PURPOSE that God has for you. It’s never too late to get to where God has called you to be. Its a very simple solution— Put your faith and full trust in God so he can guide your path. If we keep guiding ourselves, we will continue to to struggle and fall short every time. You know that you didn’t wake up this morning without GOD’s doing. You know God is the creator of all things.

So it’s time to change our thinking… think about it?? Where do you want to be in life? In 5 to 10 years? Maybe tomorrow. Put it in your mindset that only if I follow God.. I can truly get to where I need to be. Where I am supposed to be. Do you know God can do the impossible? We need stop letting him come in between what we think we need and what we really need from God’s will. I don’t know about you but I want the things that God has for me.

When you fully submit to God – you are being healed spiritually and naturally. I believe that we often hold ourselves back from God truly working miracles in our life at times because we want to go our own way. As if we going to miss out on life. For John 10:10 says- “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy; I come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (kjv)

I encourage you all to give your all to God and watch him work miracles in your life and you will know your purpose through him.

Prayer:

Dear Father God,
Thank you for what you have given us the spirit to not fear, when we mess up over and over again your grace covers us. Your mercy renews our minds and we love you for never giving up on us. We pray that we continue to fully your plans for our lives. Help us to focus and trust in you at all times. From this day forward we will step out on faith in everything we do. Thank you for everything God. We love you today and forever.

Amen

Prayer works

Screenshot 2016-07-06 at 9.19.15 AM

Often times we forget to pray everyday because we get to busy with our day to day task/ activities.

I challenge you to always begin your day with prayer. It does not have to be a long, drawn our prayer. Its just you and God talking about what you are thankful for and expressing to him how wonderful he is. Having that encounter with God early in the morning. – ( :Those who seek me early shall me”- Proverbs 8:17 ) Is the best breakfast you could ever have.

I believe all struggle with this. But do you believe prayer works? It’s a must to focus on developing a strong and strategic prayer life.

Here is a prayer to God :

Father, we just want to say thank you for waking us up this morning and starting us on our way God. We love you and honor you today. There is nobody in this world that is like you. We lift up everyone that reads this blog, that whatever they may be struggling or dealing with please give them strength, wisdom and the ability to know that they can do anything  if they put their full trust in you God.

In Jesus Name Amen
